8-Hour Homebuyer Education & Individual Counseling
As a HUD approved housing counseling agency, NPHS provides homebuyer education and counseling to residents seeking to purchase homes. An 8-hour HUD approved housing education certificate is provided to first-time homebuyers to qualify for certain mortgage lending programs. NPHS’ certified Homebuyer Development Specialists provide one-on-one counseling to develop personalized Homeownership Action Plans and to determine the homebuyer-readiness status of each client.
NPHS offer Free Homebuyer Education classes that are especially designed for potential homebuyers who are serious about taking control of the home buying process and want to be prepared to make the right decisions. These classes take the mystery out of the home buying process. Also, a Certificate of Completion is provided upon attendance of the class. Since NPHS is a HUD-approved counseling agency, this certificate fulfills the education requirements for certain loan and assistance programs. Homebuyer Education classes are held on Saturdays at least once per month. They begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m.
To sign up for one of the classes listed below or for more information, please email Vanessa Navarro, Program Support Specialist, at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (909) 988-5979.
Highly trained and professional Homebuyer Development Specialists are available to provide both pre and post purchase counseling at no cost to the homebuyer. In addition, workshops for potential homebuyers and current homeowners are conducted on a regular basis. All counseling and workshops are provided in both English and Spanish. There is a cost of $20 per person for credit checks (if applicable).
