Yesenia Flores from Montclair California is a Human Resources professional with over 25 years of experience. She is the recent recipient of the 2017 Trail Blazer award from the National Latina Business Women’s Association (NLBWA) showing excellence in leadership in the business community. Yesenia recently partnered with her daughter Jeanette Flores, a Business Development Executive and an expert in interpersonal, organizational, and marketing communications to open their own HR consulting and staffing firm, HRY Solutions.

Yesenia met Jenny Ortiz, NPHS’ Vice President of Social Enterprise and Innovations, at a 2016 Emerging Latina’s Workshop sponsored by the NLBWA. Jenny is a licensed Commercial Real Estate Broker Associate and she presented about NPHS’ Small Business Access to Capital and Commercial Real Estate services at the workshop.

After 9 years of working from home as a human resources consultant, Yesenia decided that it was time to expand HRY Solutions. With support and expertise from her daughter, her vision was to include HRY Personnel Services as a full-service staffing company that offers temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct hire employment services in various industries and positions raging from clerical, administrative and professional positions.

With help from Jenny Ortiz at NPHS, Yesenia and Jeanette were able to find an office location that fit their business needs. As part of NPHS’ additional Business Services, Jenny assisted the new business partners with accessing a small business loan. Yesenia had unsuccessfully attempted to secure a small business loan in the past with affordable and reasonable terms. Through a partnership with Opportunity Fund, Jenny was able to help finance a $25,000 loan at 9% interest payable over 5 years. The microloan will be used towards payments for insurance, payroll, furnish the new office space, and buy software for the company. In a recent interview Yesenia shared the following:
