Americorps VISTA-Marketing and Digital Content Specialist
NPHS has a great AmeriCorps VISTA opportunity. The Marketing and Digital Content Specialist will identify NPHS’ market needs, effective outreach strategies and available financial resources. The VISTA will integrate the findings into an online/social media marketing plan for NPHS. This online/social media plan will be deployed to include weekly social media posts, graphic design work and video creation which will help NPHS grow its online presence and reach additional low-to-moderate income families. The overall goal of the Marketing and Digital Content Specialist is to increase awareness of NPHS’ programs and services to attract additional clientele and resource development opportunities.
The Marketing and Digital Content Specialist will have the following objectives:
Objective 1: Conduct a Community Needs Assessment to identify community assets in the region, and priority needs of residents within NPHS’ target service area to develop an effective marketing plan for identifying new clients and new funding sources.
Conduct quantitative research to identify social and economic barriers to self-sufficiency and financial stability within NPHS’ service area; document data research references
Research and identify current policies and upcoming policies that could impact NPHS’ business lines.
Identify community assets and resources available for low-income residents in the region including government, nonprofit, faith-based and private sector resources; determine gaps in services that NPHS may consider developing and implementing.
Objective 2: Develop a digital/social media marketing plan to increase visibility of NPHS’ programs and services.
Identify and develop strategies for outreach and engagement of low-income residents within NPHS’ service area using traditional and social media.
Develop press releases, blogs, op-eds, client success stories and social media posts.
Develop a manage a strategy for online advertising through Facebook and Google.
Create and design NPHS’ marketing materials and videos.
Objective 3: Increase social media followers and likes by 20% by August 2020.
Research current trends/needs involving housing, employment, and homelessness to develop online marketing content.
Compile findings and recommendations within NPHS’ policies and procedures for Public Relations and Marketing/Communications, as well as contribute to the Resource Development Plan. These protocol documents will be utilized to train current and future NPHS employees, interns or VISTA members who will be responsible for these projects. At the conclusion of the project year, the VISTA member will train two key NPHS staff and any new VISTA members who will support the Strategic Advancement and Communications team in order to transition the knowledge base to the organization.

This position requires a commitment to serve as a full-time employee for a 1 year period beginning Monday, August 26th, 2019. Compensation is paid directly to the VISTA in the form of a modest bi-weekly living allowance from AmeriCorps VISTA. At the end of the term of service, an education award or cash stipend may be provided. Training and Qualifications
U.S. Citizen at least 18 years of age
Responsible, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple on-going projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Relevant non-profit or community development experience
Ability to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment and follow-through
Maintains regular and timely attendance
Thrives in a fast-paced work environment
