Over 230 Guests Will Gather in Riverside to Celebrate NPHS’ 25th Anniversary

Local drummer Mike Calderon is fond of saying, “Mess up once, that’s on you. Mess up twice: that’s jazz.”  Fortunately for Calderon and his fellow band mates, “messing up” is hardly a feature of one of the Inland Empire’s hottest musical acts.

Defined by a sound that is both traditional and rough-around-the-edges, Shoes to Fill offers a set list that encompasses jazz, blues, funk, Latin, pop, R&B, rock and swing. In simpler terms: one part Sinatra, one part Santana, and one part originality. Founded in 2008 by four Cal State San Bernardino students, Shoes to Fill is a band of diversity, dynamism and creative energy.  The group is booking shows throughout the region and will be performing to a sold-out audience at NPHS 25th Anniversary Gala.

The group’s members come from all parts of the Inland Empire, from Redlands, to Colton, to the High Desert; and their inland roots and creative, diverse sound are more than fitting for a celebration of our local communities.

NPHS’ 25th Anniversary Dinner will be held on Thursday, September 15th, at the historic and architecturally beautiful Riverside Municipal Auditorium. The sold-out event will be attend by over 230 stakeholders comprised of representatives from local government, housing industry, financial institutions and community organizations. The event will highlight NPHS’ impact, accomplishments, and strategic direction while celebrating the achievements of some of the families whose lives have been transformed by NPHS.
