The City of Chino Healthy Homes Grant is a home repair grant for eligible senior citizen homeowners or homeowners with permanent disabilities. The one-time grant is for home improvements and/or modifications designed to make the home safer, particularly to meet Health and Safety Code deficiencies or to improve quality of life. The grant covers all costs associated with the repairs, including labor, supplies, and materials.

  • Up to $5,000
  • One-time grant only
  • Applications are prioritized for funding purposes on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Home must be a single-family residence located within Chino city limits
  • Homeowner must be at least 62 years of age OR permanently disabled with mobility issues
  • Home may not be listed for sale or sold for a period of 1 year from the date funds are expended to the contractor
  • Finished rehabilitation work must be free of any Health and Safety Code, Building Code, or other State and local code violations
  • Finished rehabilitation work must, at a minimum, meet Section 8 Housing Quality Standards (HQS)
  • Applications must be completed and returned within 30 days
  • Income limits apply

Program eligibility is based on household size and level of income. Households with incomes at or below 80% of the Area Median Income may be eligible.
