The High Desert Association of Realtors invites the community to attend a Homebuyers Resource Fair at the High Desert Event Center (San Bernardino County Fairgrounds) on Saturday, June 4 from 9am to 1pm.

Attendees will learn about the value and benefits of homeownership, the tremendous opportunities for affordable housing in the High Desert region, how to build a path to homeownership and receive valuable information from other housing resource vendors at the event.

Information on the many closing cost assistance programs for first time homebuyers will be available at the event.

The Homebuyers Resource Fair is presented by the High Desert Association of Realtors, Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc and the office of San Bernardino County Supervisor Robert A. Lovingood.  The focus of the event is to build strong neighborhoods in the high desert through investments in homeownership.

Serena Whyte, President of the High Desert Association of Realtors offers her perspective for first time homebuyers, “Buyers have been stuck behind a wave of rising prices but now they have the opportunity to jump in! With affordable home prices, closing cost assistance, low interest rates and skyrocketing rents, homeownership is very attractive and doable. Homeownership is a happy milestone in all our lives.”

“Neighborhood Partnership Housing Services (NPHS) is committed to providing sustainable homeownership opportunities to working families in the High Desert communities,” said Clemente A. Mojica, President and CEO of NPHS. “In partnership with the High Desert Association of Realtors, NPHS will be offering a Closing Cost Assistance Program to assist qualified first-time homebuyers purchase a home.”

Participating exhibitors will include: the City of Victorville, the Town of Apple Valley, NPHS, Housing Opportunities Collaborative, the County of San Bernardino Housing Authority, Inland Fair Housing and Mediation Board, NHSIE, Springboard, Neighborhood Watch/Crime Free San Bernardino County Sheriffs Dept and the Dept of Business Oversight.

Parking and entry to the event are free. It will take place in the Alaska USA building at the High Desert Event Center, 14800 7th Street, Victorville CA 92395.
