Eligible Home Modifications for Low-Income Seniors in the City of Montclair
Available to City of Montclair residents, the Older Adults Home Modification Grant Program is open to low-income elderly persons aging in place. The program is a low cost and low barrier for high impact home modifications to help residents age in place. This program enables seniors to remain in their homes rather than move to a nursing home or other assisted care facility.

Program Highlights
- Eligible to City of Montclair senior residents 62 years and older that meet 80% AMI.
- Limited to homeowners, renters, and available only if applicant’s primary residence is a single-family home.
- Home must be located within the City of Montclair
- Eligible modifications and installations include: grab bars, railings, faucets, ADA compliant equipment and home maintenance items.
- This program will rely on the expertise of a licensed Occupation Therapist to ensure all home modifications address the needs of clients.
